I believe it is very important to work closely as a team, committed to providing quality education and care to children by building respectful and trusting relationships with children and families. Families receive regular updates about their child’s learning and development, including observations, learning stories, developmental discussions and opportunities to connect with educators and teachers throughout the year. Our curriculum is further enriched through two signature programs 3 year old kindergarten wantirna that are embedded into children’s everyday learning.
We offer an inclusive and creative kinder program, led by educators who are focused on nurturing your child’s strengths, interests and social connections. We provide opportunities for children to have input into the development of the program. We believe in the power of connecting with our community beyond participation but through partnership. We establish connections through strong and authentic relationships with our local community by purposefully building links between what our community values and engaging this within our educational programs. Part  of our village is our community and we recognise the strength and diversity this offers to our educational program.

When children play and explore, their imagination and curiosity are sparked – they enjoy learning and are inspired to continue learning more. Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day. If you have an infant, we spend one-on-one time with them to establish a connection. We use songs, games, and conversations to strengthen relationships and build language skills.
Both programs are led by dedicated educators and specialists, ensuring children benefit from rich, intentional learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom environment. As a double-unit sessional kindergarten, we provide a high quality, government-funded kindergarten program tailored to each child’s needs in a family-focussed and supportive way. As part of our annual re-enrolment process, conducted each August, families are invited to discuss their child’s upcoming kindergarten year with the service.

We offer a rotating seasonal menu, providing breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack freshly made daily. We are committed to sustainability through hands-on initiatives like having recycling bins in every room. We also encourage families to contribute by bringing in jars, lids, cardboard, magazines, and scrap paper, which we repurpose for creative projects and learning activities. Together, we teach children the importance of caring for our environment.
We respect and follow culturally appropriate food guidelines as we educate the children about healthy eating and nutrition. One Tree’s educational program aligns with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy that educators are co-learners who collaborate with children. At Watch Me Grow Early Learning Centre we had a mural painted by the talented Amanda Wright.

A parent information evening is held in late November to partner with our parents to ensure their children are ready to begin school the next year. Students are encouraged to seek meaning, be curious, collaborate, take risks and challenge themselves. This allows our families the flexibility of a long day  care setting in these essential programs.. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Kinder Haven is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all  children. Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident. To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team.
